L’Academic All-Stars del Boys' Club of New York in visita al Consolato Generale degli Stati Uniti a Milano. La squadra, in tour in Italia per quindici giorni, è stata ricevuta a Milano dal Console Generale Deborah Graze (quarta da sinistra). Due le partite amichevoli già disputate in Lombardia, contro la Pallacanestro Cantù e il Basket Cantù. Venerdì 17 giugno si gioca in Friuli-Venezia Giulia.

The Academic All-Stars from the Boys' Club of New York at the Consulate General of the United States in Milan. On tour in Italy for fifteen days, the team was greeted by U.S. Consul General Deborah Graze (fourth from the left). After two friendly matches already played in Lombardy against Pallacanestro Cantù and Basket Cantù, the team will continue on to Friuli-Venezia Giulia for a game on Friday the 17th.

Basket USA Under-21: Tour italiano
MILANO, 15 giugno 2005 – Sono arrivati in Italia per un tour di quindici giorni e hanno già disputato due amichevoli contro le squadre di Cantù, la Pallacanestro Cantù e il Basket Cantù. Si tratta degli Academic All Stars del Boys’ Club of New York: quindici giocatori, sei tra allenatori e accompagnatori, un bell’esempio di basket americano under-21 che vede nella pallacanestro un modo per creare rapporti internazionali basati sui valori dello sport. Il gruppo è stato ricevuto a Milano dal Console Generale degli Stati Uniti Deborah Graze

Dopo la tappa a Cantù, il tour proseguirà in Veneto e a Udine dove la squadra incontrerà una selezione di giocatori friulani in una partita amichevole che si disputerà venerdì 17 giugno nell’ambito di un campus di basket organizzato a Forni di Sopra alla presenza di Alberto Cautero, responsabile del settore giovanile della nazionale italiana di pallacanestro. Cautero ha allenato il team friulano insieme al coach spagnolo Carlos Frades, allenatore del Pamesa di Valencia.

Il viaggio continuerà a Pisa e Roma, da dove il 22 giugno il team ripartirà per gli Stati Uniti.

USA Basketball, Under 21: Italian Tour
MILAN, June 15, 2005 – The Academic All Stars from the Boys’ Club of New York is in Italy for a 15-day tour and have already played two friendly matches against teams from Cantù, Pallacanestro Cantù and Basket Cantù. Fifteen players and six members of the coaching staff make up this fine example of a U.S.under-21 basketball team who see game play as a means of establishing international relations based on the values of sportsmanship. U.S. Consul General Deborah Graze greeted the team in Milan.

The tour will continue to the Veneto region and to Udine, where the team will play a friendly game against selected players from Friuli on Friday the 17th, which will be held in Forni di Sopra under the presence of Alberto Cautero, head of the younger players of the Italian National Basketball Team. Cautero has coached the team from Friuli-Venezia Giulia along with Spanish trainer Carlos Frades, coach of the Pamesa de Valencia team.
