CG Scott Welcome Press Conference

On September 8th at 10:00 am CG Kyle Scott did his welcome press conference. The event was hosted in the Consulate John Rogers conference room.

Journalists and photographers from fourteen media outlets participated in the event, among them representatives from top circulation daily Corriere della Sera, top financial daily Il Sole 24 Ore, Catholic daily Avvenire, and Milan-based daily Il Giorno. RAI3 Tg Lombardia, the regional news show, also covered the press conference.

In his opening remarks CG Scott noted: “My tour here in Milan begins at a remarkable time in history.  The economic and political events that have taken place this year -- not only globally, but also in Italy and the U.S. -- show once again how interconnected the world has become, and that the fate of Italy and the United States remain closely connected.”

Questions from the floor focused on the economic situation in Europe, Italy and the US, on 9/11 tenth anniversary with a personal twist and on the CG’s first impressions of Northern Italy and Milan.
