Consul General Scott addressed over 80 Asian Studies and international students on “From Gorbachev to Putin: 20 years after the fall of the Soviet Union.”  Speaking to students born in a post-Cold War world, Consul General Scott talked about the background of US-Russia relations and explained to the audience that “Russia is a great country” that “cannot be ignored” by any US administration. After his remarks, CG Scott fielded lively questions about democracy in the Caucasus, corruption, the future of Russia, and US foreign policy.
