    USA Pavilion Welcomes 6 Million Visitors And Comes to an End!

    October 29, 2015 -- the USA Pavilion doubled its initial visitor projection by welcoming six million visitors to the Pavilion! This was the ultimate record that characterized an unprecedented series of extraordinary events day after day, to the very last one, on Saturday, October 31, when a festival of music, private parties and fireworks officially closed the much-talked-about Milan Expo 2015.

    September 2015 -- Chef Todd Gray of Washington’s Equinox Restaurant participated in two events while in Milan. First, in celebration of the Jewish New Year, the U.S. Consulate in Milan and the Friends of the USA Pavilion co-hosted a Rosh Hashanah dinner at the James Beard American Restaurant. Chef Gray prepared a traditional meal with the assistance of his sous chef Ellen Kassoff.

Stofan explained NASA’s most recent research on climate change with a series of space pictures and graphs, enhancing public awareness about NASA’s commitment to a sustainable future

    May 6, 2015 -- On May 6 at the National Museum of Science and Technology in Milan, Elia Tello, Deputy Commissioner General of the USA Pavilion for Expo 2015, awarded the Secretary General of 3M Foundation Daniela Aleggiani with the International ‎Prize “Le Tecnovisionarie 2015” dedicated to sustainability. This award is assigned every year by the Women and Technologies Association to women who have professionally acted throughout their careers within a framework of transparency and ethics

The opening, attended by U.S. Ambassador to Italy John Phillips and Ms. Linda Douglass, and U.S. Consul General to Milan, Ambassador Philip Reeker, launched the exhibition, “They Come to Us without a Word,” by legendary U.S. video and performance artist Joan Jonas.

    Venice, February 13, 2015 -- The Consul General Milan, Ambassador Reeker, spoke at the opening of exhibit “Alchemy,” by Jackson Pollock, at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Venice. Ambassador Reeker highlighted the successful cooperation between Italian and American institutions, both private and public, who all cooperated for the mutual effort of cleaning the painting and taking it back to the original splendor.

The Museum is home to a number of aircrafts, machines and sea vessels including post-war submarine Enrico Toti, preserves an exhaustive collection of Leonardo’s drawings of war machines, engineering projects and natural science macro-reproductions.
